What We’re Working On
Student Panel Advisers bring the student perspective to the University re-validation process. Being a Student Panel Adviser will provide you with a unique opportunity to be directly involved in the enhancement of courses at Westminster.
By representing the student voice in the re-validation process, you will be playing a part in making sure the academic experience of the student body is continually improving, as well as developing your own employability skills.
Student Panel Advisers will receive a standard fee in recognition of their contribution to the re-validation process.
As a Student Panel Adviser you are expected to:
- Attend a briefing session
- Read course documents in advance of the event and identify any particular questions, issues or concerns that you wish to raise at the final meeting
- Attend the final meeting and actively contribute to the discussions at the event
How to apply:
Any University of Westminster student (not including students on courses at partner institutions) can be considered for the role of Student Panel Adviser providing the student has experience of being a University student representative or a course representative.
In addition, the student member must have attended a UWSU course representative training session and must have attended at least one Course rep meeting with their course leader, or Course rep forum. We are currently considering applications for Student Panel Advisers for the [insert year(s)] re-validation cycle. If you are interested in applying for the role of Student Panel Adviser and meet the criteria, please complete the application form and submit to the Quality and Standards Office.
All completed application forms should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Student Panel Advisers will be selected jointly by the Quality and Standards Office and the UWSU.
If you have any queries about the role, what it involves, or whether you would be eligible to apply, please don’t hesitate to contact email@example.com.
Please note: If you have already successfully applied to be a Student Panel Adviser, you do not need to re-apply at this stage. All Student Panel Advisers serve for the duration of their studies at Westminster once recruited.
Deadline to apply: Friday, 30th October
You could be part of our team of student callers who will be calling alumni (former students) to help raise support for our COVID-19 Response Fund.
The aim of the project is to make friendly conversation with graduates, talk about the University, it’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how it has supported students affected by this. You will then explain the importance of the COVID-19 Response Fund, why it is important for the future of students and helping with their studies before asking if they would be happy to give a charitable donation.
Full training is given and it is an opportunity to really help make a difference to fellow students at the University. So if you want to work in a relaxed atmosphere (working from home), make new friends, earn money, CV points and gain a good reference then apply now.
