In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, charity CoppaFeel teaches you how to check your boobs
Everyone has breast tissue. So anyone can get breast cancer and unfortunately, the numbers are pretty high.
Each year in the UK, 50,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer. Although we’ve been told myths like “only older women get breast cancer”, it’s vital we take measures to prevent these numbers from rising.
One of the best ways to do this is to check yourself; regularly. Here’s how.
“Boobette” adviser for CoppaFeel, Lauren, hosted a webinar for Westminster students this past Wednesday. She said one of the main reasons people don’t regularly check themselves is because they forget. I’m definitely guilty of this one. So if you’re like me, sign up for monthly texts from the charity which will remind you.
In the meantime, Smoke is hosting weekly Zoom events in October where all proceeds go to CoppaFeel. The last event is a Cards Against Humanity game next Wednesday at 7pm Tickets are £1, so get yours now!
