The University of Westminster Students' Union is delighted and excited to announce the appointment of Michael Wigg as its new Chief Executive Officer.  Following an extensive recruitment process over recent months Michael will be joining the organisation on 1st October 2018.  His background and experience includes two and a half years as Chief Executive of Beds Students' Union and nearly five years as Head of Membership Services at Nottingham Trent Students' Union, where he was a key part of the team that helped the Union become Higher Education Students' Union of the Year.  Michael has also served on the national NUS Digital Direction and Oversight Board and is a Trustee at Christ Church Students' Union.

Lareb Naseem, President of the Students' Union: "We're delighted that Michael will be joining our Students' Union.  He has an amazing track record of helping to build great Students' Unions and we know he's exactly the kind of person we need to ensure we are the best we can be for the 20,000 students studying at Westminster".

Michael Wigg: "This is a great role in an organisation with huge potential.  UWSU has been through lots of change recently, but with a new Vice-Chancellor, a re-energised University and a new strategy, there is an opportunity to develop a Students' Union that is innovative and ranked among the very best, modern Students' Unions in the UK".

Michael's immediate priorities will be working with the team to develop and launch a new strategy, support elected leaders and new staff to thrive in their roles and further develop the strong relationship with the University.
