Westminster’s Trading and Investment Society (TAIS) is a project and event driven society. As a society we seek to enhance your knowledge and understanding of trading and Investment, as well as help you gain sustainable financial habits.


Activities organized by the society is:


  • Real and Virtual Investment Funds


  • Guest Speaker Events – We host several individuals who can shine light on the inside of the financial world and give interesting views on related topics.


  • Skill Workshops – Skill workshops are held to help our members improve their actions and understanding within trading and finance.


  • Mixers – To introduce our members to the many parts of the finance sector. Professionals from different parts of the industry comes to network with students.  


  • Sponsor Events – Where we connect our sponsors with the members through informational and educational events.


This society is an inclusive Society and welcomes everyone. Complex financial knowledge is not needed.

Terms & Conditions of purchasing student group memberships at UWSU


By joining any student group you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of membership and the Student Group Code of Practice. We may process your personal information for carefully considered and specific purposes which are in the interests of delivering and enhancing our services as well as adding benefit for our members. Our privacy statement details when and how we will process this data as well as your rights relating to your data.

Group memberships can be bought at any time throughout the academic year, all annual memberships expire on the last day of the academic year.

The cost of each group membership may, for example, cover use of facilities, equipment and provision of coaches. This is subject to each group's budget and should be outlined on the group page.


Refund policy

We offer a 14 days’ cooling off period for new members, effective from the day you register for membership to any student group. This will allow you to cancel your subscription without any penalty, providing that the individual making the claim has not been selected to represent the University in any BUCS fixture or equivalent competition. If you wish to cancel your new member subscription, you must notify the Students’ Union at within these 14 days in writing by e-mail. Membership fees will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation.

If the customer chooses to cancel the purchase after 14 days of the original subscription then the Union will not refund the payment as it considered that the individual will have benefited from being an activity member by having access to member information, obtaining any associated member discounts, and participated in the activity.


Group events and trials are considered by the Union as events and these fall under the purchasing tickets policy.


All other refunds are subject to the UWSU refunds policy.
