In this 4 hour workshop we will discuss how the philosophy of the four elements and temperaments were used in Traditional Herbal Medicine, from the Hippocratic Corpus to seventeenth century physician astrologers, William Lilly and Nicholas Culpeper.
Using material from her recently published book, As Above so Below-Traditional Western Herbal Medicine, Aeon books, (2019) Elisabeth Brooke will show Astrology can be used as both a diagnostic tool and in preventitive and constitutional remedies for patients. The Decumbiture chart shows the illness, the remedies and the physician; while the temperament or cosntitutional chart shows a person's inherent strengths and weaknesses and suggests remedies which can be taken to maintain heath and wellbeing.
Copies of the book will be available to buy after the workshop. - there will be 10% discount for cash payments for the book on the day.
