Money

London is one of the world's most expensive cities. Therefore studying in London requires careful planning and budgeting to ensure that you don't end up broke. As your President, one of my main focuses is to "put more money back into students' pockets" and provide tips and advice on budgeting.

One free beverage a day
If you’re a student at Marylebone Campus, did you know you're entitled to ONE FREE beverage a day (coffee, latté, orange juice etc) from the Time Out refectory on Mondays to Fridays throughout the duration of the building works.

Find out how to get your free beverage voucher
here.

My top 10 money saving tips
As part of my commitment to helping students save money check out my top 10 money saving tips here.

Understanding new university fees
The increase in University fees and the level of misunderstanding around the new university loan structure is deterring young people from considering higer education, but perceptions are far worse than the reality. Make sure you do your homework and understand how the new loans will affect you.

Read the article on undertanding new university fees here.

Managing your money
Being a student can be an expensive lifestyle - fees, course costs, rent, bills and travel expenses can all add up and leave a hole in your wallet. But by being smart with your finances, you may be surprised at how far your money can go.

There's some useful information on how to survive on a budget here.

Access to Learning Fund
The Access to Learning Fund is available to students who are going through financial hardship. Successful applicants can receive a fund of up to £3,000 if you need extra money to buy course materials, pay rent or bills, or pay for childcare.

Find out more about the Access to Learning Fund and how to apply here.

Student discounts
Studying in London doesn’t mean you have to be out of pocket and constantly skimp on luxuries – there’s a lot of student discounts that you can take advantage of, from transport to shopping, entertainment and eating out.

Student discount schemes like the Student Oyster card, 16-25 Railcard and NUS Extra card will save you lots of money throughout the academic year.
