Managing your money

Being a student can be an expensive lifestyle - fees, course costs, rent, bills and travel expenses can all add up and leave a hole in your wallet. But by being smart with your finances, you may be surprised at how far your money can go.
During your time at University it's likely you'll need to survive on a tight budget and being able to manage your money is crucial.
The University's Student Advice Service provides good information on money matters. It has tips on budgeting (including a budget calculator), maximising your income, dealing with debt and student banking.
And if you're planning to get a part-time job during your studies they have advice on how to maximise your part-time work without damaging your studies, and information on tax, national insurance and UK employment law.
See the University's budgeting tips on their website here.
